A Guide to Giving:
Worship Chirst as we give our offerings in obedience.
Four Foundational Principles.
What is it about money that we love so much? And how are we, as Christians, supposed to give of our monetary wealth to God and the work of His Kingdom? This pamphlet contains ten points based on Scripture to guide your giving. Look up the verses in context for yourself, and pray about how the Lord would lead you to give back to Him from all that He has given to you. This ten-point pattern is based on four foundational principles found in Scripture:
4 Foundational Principles:
1. Everything Comes from God.
(Psalm 24:1, 50:10-12; Haggai 2:8)
God is the Creator of all things. Nothing was made apart from Him.
2. Everything Belongs to God.
(1 Chron. 29:12; Pro. 10:22; James 1:17)
Because God is the Creator of all, He has rights over all. Everything we have is “on loan” from God.
3. Everything Needed Comes from God.
(Psalm 24:8-10, 25:12-14, 33:18-22; Matthew 6:24-34)
God promises to provide for our daily needs. While this does not mean that we can sit back and do nothing, it does mean we can live without anxiety regarding basic provisions.
4. Everything of this World is Unreliable.
(Job 30:15; Proverb 11:28; Ecclesiastes 5:10; 1 Timothy 6:17)
One day everything in this world will fade away and be no more. All that will last are the souls of people and the impact we have made for God’s Kingdom. This makes love for money and stuff seem really silly.
