Pastor of Student Ministries
Rusty has served as a student pastor since 1998 and came to FBCMB in June of 2005. Before becoming a full-time pastor, Rusty spent fourteen years as a journeyman electrician in plants and refineries and seven of those years he served as a bi vocational student pastor. Rusty is a 2014 graduate from Houston Baptist University with a B.A. in Christianity, minor in Biblical Languages. Rusty is married to Mindy, a stay-at-home mom and photographer. They have five children: Lyle, Mia, Maggie, Levi and Lylamae. Rusty believes his calling as a pastor is to disciple students by teaching them solid, biblical truth and to help parents understand and fulfill their roles in discipling their children in their homes every day.
Rusty enjoys spending time with his wife and children, teaching students God’s Word, reading, playing and teaching music and mowing the yard while listening to John MacArthur preach on his ipod. Rusty is also involved with iGo Global, a missions organization that provides training and opportunities for students and adults to take the Gospel locally and to foreign countries.

Life verse: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25)
