The office of deacon is described in 1 Timothy 3:8- 13 and Acts 6:1-7. These members shall be received as gifts of Christ to his church and set apart as deacons.
According to our bylaws our deacons must sign a yearly commitment to remain in the office; this allows for those whose life circumstances have been providentially changed to assess their ability and desire to continue serving the church as deacon. Deacons shall care for the temporal needs of members, assist the pastors in the accommodations for public worship, including the administration of the ordinances, and give special care to members with greater needs, such as widows and orphans.
More information about our deacons is available in our Church Bylaws.
